Trae Tha Truth helps elderly woman arrested over $77 trash bill

Trae Tha Truth will make sure he always helps those in need, like he did for an elderly woman who was arrested for not paying a garbage bill.

On Tuesday (Dec. 27), the Houston native shared a clip on Instagram of him visiting Martha Menefield, a woman who was arrested for failure to pay a $77 trash bill. In November, she had authorities come to her home in Alabama to take her into custody for not paying the bill she thought she was paying.

The arrest sparked outrage on social media, but a city official claimed the elderly woman had a history of suspended service and never responded to a summons to appear in court, which she said she did not receive. Trae Tha Truth took it upon himself to visit the woman and treated her to a shopping spree while asking fans for donations to help her get central heat, air conditioning and more.

“Meet Mrs. Martha Menefield,” Trae Tha Truth captioned her post. “She wanted to tell everyone who cared, prayed or donated thank you… I need everyone right to donate, she has no central heat or AC, and house floods When it rains, and many more things, it will take a a lot of work but we can bless her…

He added: “Donate to her directly so we can make sure they do [don’t] try taking her prison again and she’ll never have to stress about just living… Bless our elders.”

Trae’s act of kindness comes just before he turned himself into Houston authorities this week after Z-Ro filed charges against him stemming from their altercation in August during 50 Cent’s Tycoon weekend in Houston.

A video of the 42-year-old rapper turning himself into authorities circulated online Friday (Dec. 30) and shows bystanders embracing him as he entered the Harris County Joint Processing Center in Houston. Trae was reportedly released on bond shortly after.

The fight in question took place outside a restaurant on August 27. Footage of the incident showed several men kicked and punched Z-Ro, who was curled up in a ball on the ground.

Trae Tha Truth could be seen restraining the men who attacked Z-Ro before he and his entourage appeared to make verbal threats until the police eventually intervened. Other footage shows Trae attacking Z-Roand refutes claims he made that he never assaulted his cousin.
