Before the Charlotte date, Lee had only played the first few songs in each show and later returned to the set to play piano on “Home Sweet Home.” He explained below tour kickoff in Atlanta that two weeks earlier he had broken four ribs and had been advised not to play drums at all.

“What I have to tell you is about 14 days ago, I ‘broke the hell not one, not two, not three, but four damn’ ribs right here,” Lee told the audience. “The doctors said to me, ‘Do not play, bro. No play.’ And I thought, “Are you damn tall, brother? We have a fucking trip to make! “So at least I’m not sitting next to shit. My boy will help me here and see you later. Continue with the damn show.”

Lee’s wife, Brittany Furlan, recently detailed how the drummer sustained his injuries. “We lived in an old rental house in Nashville. It was a cool, old quirky house,” she explained. “But the stairs outside were made of stone, and they were really uneven, and the roots pushed them up from the tree. And everything was fine. I actually fell up the stairs a few times to get shopping, but no matter what. So, that day. , we left Nashville, our driver came and we had all this luggage and he did not help us; he just stayed in the car. So Tommy tried to carry all our luggage for us. And he fell down. these crazy stairs and broke – broken – four ribs. Not broken, not bruised – broken. “

Lee received an assist on stage from Clufetos, who has toured with Black Sabbath,, Ozzy Osbourne,, Rob Zombie,, Alice Cooper and more. The veteran drummer recently teamed up with Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixxalong with Zombie and guitarist John 5in a supergroup called LA rats. The released their first singlea cover of the Geoff Mack-written country standard “I’ve Been Everywhere”, in May 2021.

Sixx recently rost Lee to penetrate his injuries on the tour. “The fact that Tommy was told by the doctor not to play with four broken ribs and that he hit half of our show is a miracle,” the bassist wrote in a later-deleted tweet. “We’re a band and are proud of his strength. He’s doing the whole tour and adding more songs day by day. What a fucking animal. Is there anyone out there who has broken your ribs?”
