Rihanna Drops Super Bowl Halftime Show Trailer: Watch

Uploaded by Apple Music — the Super Bowl halftime show’s new sponsor — on Friday (Jan. 13), the 30-second clip finds RiRi dampening chatter surrounding her yearlong musical hiatus.

The video, called “Rihanna Is Back,” begins with audio of fans, journalists and radio hosts counting down the days since the release of her last album — 2,190 to be exact — as they impatiently clamor for her comeback.

Finally, Rihanna—wearing a furry yellow jacket, silver jewelry, and an elaborate braided hairdo—steps out of the shadows and into a spotlight, immediately silencing the noise. She then brings her finger to her lips and hugs the audience.

Fittingly, the trailer ends with a short snippet of “Needed Me,” from the singer’s last studio effort, 2016’s ANTI.

While it’s still unclear what fans can expect from the show, the 34-year-old confirmed in November that she is working on a “special” project to coincide with the Big Gamealthough she suggested it would not be a new album.
