Quavo & Takeoff Drop “Messy” Video For Halloween | HipHopDX

Quavo and Takeoff take a horror-themed ride in the new music video for “Messy” from their collaboration Only built for Infinity Links. Check it out below.

The duo released the video directed by Quavo and Daps on Monday (October 31), just in time for Halloween. The visual finds Quay and Take sleeping in a car before waking up, both confused by their dreams.

The video evolves into a home where things get a little creepy for the Atlanta, Georgia native as they walk through different rooms and witness a lot of oddities.

“Messy” sparked a lot of talk when the album was first released, thanks to fans who thought Quavo was referencing his breakup with Saweetie and rumors that she might be having an affair with someone in his crew.

I said ‘Caresha, please’ cause she’s too messed up / Bitch fucked my dawg behind my back but I ain’t stressin’ / You wanted the gang? You should have just said that, we just wanted to bless it / Now the shit got messy“, rapped Huncho on the song “Messy”.

Although Quavo didn’t name anyone in particular, many listeners believed he was referring to his partner-in-rhyme and cousin Offset to sleep with his ex-girlfriend Saweetiesuggesting it was the cause of Migos’ sudden breakup earlier this year.

Other fans speculated that Quavo was talking about Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, who was rumored to have had a fling with Saweetie last year.

The 4PF chief apparently addressed the situation on the tracks “Stand On It” and “Not Finished” — taken from his recently released album It’s just me. Baby spits a few verses that led fans to assume he was somehow involved in the messy situation between Quavo and Saweetie.

I don’t want your bitch, we can’t trade out (Trade out)/ They ain’t crazy, tell them to pop out (Pop out),” he raps on “Stand On It.”

So on “Not Finished,” Lil Baby apparently references the photo of the Icy Girl allegedly sitting on his lap during a New York shopping spree that started rumors of the two breaking up last year.

Quavo & Takeoff reflect on the infamous Joe Budden & Akademiks interview

“She posted a picture without my permission/ Got me in some shit, man, these women are crazy,” Baby raps on the song.

Quavo and Takeoff may be handling things as a duo now, but they’re willing to reunite as Migos with Offset under one condition.

On a recent episode of Drink ChampsQuavo asked the podcast crew who they thought could face him and Takeoff in one Verzuz match-upnot including OGs. NORE couldn’t decide and instead asked if there was any chance fans would get a Migos Verzuz reunion in one night.

“And we can’t do a Migos reunion for one Verzuz? Good? That’s not gonna happen,” NORE asked, before Takeoff simply replied, “If the check is real.”
