PnB Rock’s history on the Billboard charts

As music industry insiders and fans around the globe mourn the rapper/singer PnB Rockwho was shot and killed on Monday (September 12) aged 30, Billboard recalls the lasting impact the multi-talented performer left on multiple charts – including a No. 1 project on Top rap album.

PnB Rock, born Rakim Allen, made his initial Billboard chart appearances in November 2016 with the breakthrough hit “Selfish”. The track debuted on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart on nov. 12, 2016, at No. 48 and climbed to its No. 21 best in mid-January 2017. It also gave the then-rising talent hit its first all-genre stint Billboard Hot 100where it debuted at No. 87 and reached a No. 51 peak.

In addition to these Hot 100 hits, several of the songs became major hits on various radio formats. “Leave Em Alone” peaked Rhythmic air play chart for three weeks, while “Everyday We Lit” reached No. 4. The same pair also gave top 10 results on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay list, with “Alone” peaking at No. 3 and “Everyday” at No. 5, while “Dangerous” also logged time in the lineup, ending at No. 2.

On it Billboard 200PnB Rock posted three albums on the chart during his lifetime: GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions (No. 28 of 2017), Catch those Vibes (No. 17, 2017) and Trapstar Turned Popstar (No. 4, 2019). The latter title also gave the artist his first No. 1 Top rap album diagram.

In total, PnB Rock accumulated 2.5 million equivalent album units in the US in his career, according to Luminate, while his song catalog (of songs in which he was the main artist) produced 3.5 billion official on-demand streams stateside.
