Paramore’s Hayley Williams + Taylor York confirm they are dating

Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams and Taylor York, one of her two bandmates in the resurgent pop-rock act, have confirmed that they are dating. The admission came in a new interview with the band.

Williams and York confirm dating rumors but decline to comment further, a note in parentheses acknowledges i Guardian interview from Thursday (September 29). The confirmation ends years of speculation about the couple’s relationship, per Billboard.

Paramore was interviewed because This is why, the group’s long-awaited sixth studio album, was announced this week. The title track and first single were released on the same day (September 28). It’s Paramore’s first new music in the five years since their last album, 2017’s After Laughter. This is why arrive feb 10, 2023.

In the new interview, Paramore also confirmed that they are no longer a Christian band. They join several others former Christian rock and metal artists. Paramore’s members are all at different stages of unraveling their relationship to faith, it says in the article.

Williams explained: “You’re brought up to be told that something is ultimate, you unwrap it and then find out it’s tangled up with some other random crap over here.”

She added: “Zac [Paramore’s Zac Farro] and Taylor are the most gentle and kind about it, whereas I feel like my teeth are knives and I’m spewing fire and trying to throw it all over the side of a cliff. It’s good to be challenged – as Taylor reminds me all the time, you can’t generalize. I can be very dualistic when it comes to good people and bad people, and a lot of the record is about what it means that people aren’t just that.”
