The first week of November is coming to an end and it’s already shaping up to be an exceptional month for music. As everyone probably already knows, Drake and 21 Savage have just released their long-awaited joint album titled Her loss after its delay.
While the 6 God and his counterpart in Atlanta will likely draw most of the attention this week, there are still other records worth spinning. Boldy James and Futurewave also feature on this week’s edition of New Music Friday Mr. Ten08 and viral artist Joji with THE SMITHER’S.
More tunes from RAP Ferreira, Boldy James and Lil Poppa arrived, so be sure to stay tuned for Drake.
Drake & 21 Savage – Her loss
Millions of songs are uploaded to Spotify and the major DSPs every week, and that number only seems to be growing. With the onslaught of new music arriving on a daily basis, the album rollout is more important now than ever. Of course, artists with the level of impact Drake and 21 Savage enjoy can drop whenever they want, and fans will drop what they’re doing to listen. But it’s still nice to see such creativity go into a project’s release.
Her lossthe joint LP from the two stars has finally arrived, and was released after a a hilarious series of fake interviews and campaigns. Fortunately, the music speaks for itself and supports the elaborate rollout.
Joji – THE SMITHER’S
Joji did not have a traditional rise to fame. The pop/R&B/rap artist began his career as a YouTuber making comedy sketch videos. He then launched his music career, amassing millions of streams in the process.
Now a certified star, known for songs like “Glimpse of Us,” “SLOW DANCEING IN THE DARK” and “Sanctuary,” the Japanese-born singer dropped SMITHER’S, which contains nine songs.
RAP Ferreira – 5 to the eye with stars
Born in Chicago but raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, RAP Ferreira is known for a quirky flow and lyrics that demand a second listen.
Also known for rapping under the name Milo, which was inspired by the main character in The Phantom’s payment machineFerreira’s latest album, 5 to the eye with stars, arrives a year after his previous album the light-emitting diamond-cut writings and four years since his last project under the name Milo, budding ornithologists are tired of tired analogies.
Boldy James & Futurewave – Sir. Tue08
Boldy James is possibly the best rapper in Griselda. While his counterparts (such as Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine and Westside Gunn) each have their own special charm, none have been as consistently outstanding as the Detroit rapper.
James has developed an affinity for teaming up with a single producer across an entire album of late. He worked with Alchemist on, among other things Bo JacksonNicholas Craven on Fair Exchange No RobberyReal Bad Man on Real Bad Boldy and now Futurewave about the latest project Sir. Tue08.
