The Bronx native was hospitalized in June after he was shot seven times while sitting in his car outside a Chipotle in Edgewater. The 21-year-old was rushed into emergency surgerywhere he was reported to have been unconscious and breathing through a tube for a couple of days.
Tjay was able to make a full recovery and took to social media in August to say that while things were “tough,” he would return and be “stronger than ever.”
“Hey what’s up?” Tjay said in a video while wearing a neck brace. “I’m just checking in with you guys. I just want to say thank you for the love, thank you for the support. I’ve been looking at the DMs, seeing the comments and everything and I’m feeling the love.”
Tjay continued: “Seven shots it was tough, you know most people don’t survive it but I’m here. Here for a reason and new music coming soon, we will come back stronger than ever. Love you all.”
Two days later, he dropped his comeback single “Beat The Odds,” where he thanks his fans for their continued love and support. He also fell off a remix to 50 Cent’s “Many Men” titled “FACESHOT”, address the near-fatal shooting and issue a warning to trigger man.
In September, he returned to the Rolling Loud New York stage with a 13-song set.
Tjay is currently being taken to an NYPD station to be booked. More details will be reported when available.
