KISS’ Gene Simmons Says ‘I Don’t Have Friends’

KISS figurehead Gene Simmons doesn’t really take to having friends as the famous rocker indicated Gold mine in the latest issue of the music magazine.

In the new interview with Simmons – it’s now on select newsstands and also available at Guldmine shop – the musician said that he did not even have friends.

But what about his partner in crime, KISS guitarist and co-vocalist Paul Stanley? Well, the KISS singer-bassist made an exception for his bandmate. And it seems to be the only one.

Simmons explained it Gold mine“Even today, sitting here, apart from Paul (Stanley), and we only meet when we do things for the band… How do I say this without sounding inhuman? I have no friends.”

The Unmistakable”Demon” of classic rock continued, “If friends mean, ‘Well, I don’t know what to do this afternoon. Hey, wanna come over and hang out?'”

In fact, “I’m more interested in what I want to do,” Simmons stated. “I’m not going to pretend I’m interested in what you want to do, because I’m not.”

The singular focus is consistent with the wise outlook the singer and businessman has presented in the past. As when he claimed he earn money at an “Olympic” level.

“Money, to me, has become what champions in the Olympics do,” Simmons said People last year. “They want to keep improving because they want the judges to hold up a higher number. That’s what happens when you don’t have enough food in your stomach. You don’t think about it that way… you want just feed themselves.”

He added: “When you have had enough [money], roof over the head and food in the stomach and stuff like that – it’s, how much better can I do it? How much more can I do this? More like a competition. It is different.”
