Von’s manager, 100K Tracks, teased that another LP could be on the way later this year, but looked to fans for ideas on what the project should be called.
“Yes it’s that time again @kingvonfrmdao ?/?/23 Album Ready @nima_empire @ghazi @empire @otf @_gbg_gbg_ @100kmgmt @__tmac__1 @_djbandz – what would von call it though,” he wrote.
Plenty of King Von fans enthusiastically embraced the idea of more music from the drill rapper after the warm fan reception to 2022’s What it means to be king project.
“Album name: LONG LIVE THE KING,” suggested one person, while a Von fan page declared the posthumous work album of the year even before it arrived.
What it means to be king debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last March with 59,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.
Meanwhile, King Von’s name circulated in the news last week when a witness who spoke to the FBI claimed the “Crazy Story” rapper placed a $100,000 bounty on FBG Duck.
According to rap blog Chicago Scene 88an FBI report cites an unnamed witness they spoke to in August 2020, just weeks after Duck’s murder, who stated that King Von allegedly initially offered $50,000 for anyone who killed Duck before later raising the reward to $100,000.
Duck was murdered after being attacked by four assailants while shopping in Chicago on August 4, 2020.
The witness who claims the OTF rhymer celebrated FBG Duck’s murder by buying everyone in O’Block a new chain also identified the alleged shooters, including Marcus “Muwop” Smart, who the witness claims carried out several murders on behalf of O’Block .
King Von was shot dead after a skirmish with Quando Rondo’s crew on November 6, 2020, outside a hookah lounge in Atlanta. He was 26 years old.
