Julio Foolio has had his fair share of run-ins with law enforcement and with snitching a topic of discussion in rap, he showed how he thinks rhymers should handle the interrogation room.
Footage emerged of Foolio – born Charles Jones – in custody after being arrested for alleged excessive window tinting and felony fleeing during a traffic stop in April 2022.
Homicide detectives then questioned the Jacksonville rapper about the murder of his friend, Mitch, who was killed in January 2022. A detective asked if Foolio felt his music played a role in the violence around him.
“It’s a blessing and a curse,” Foolio said. “You can’t just say it’s my music, it’s the reason someone died. No, a song can’t make no n-gga do nothing, bro.”
The part of the three-hour interrogation, in which Foolio himself sings a cappella to Rod Wave’s “Dark Clouds,” went viral on social media. The 24-year-old reposted the clip and issued a PSA for rap snitching to the end.
“I can never go bad, I see a lot of rappers go bad etc. ion kno nothin @rodwave should have had me on the remix I AM NOT @6ix9ine,” he declared. “#StopSnitchin.”
G Herbo added in the comments: “Folks so shit so damn funny to me man wtf!”
“Dark Clouds” landed as the closest thing to Rod Waves 2020 Pray 4 Love album, although Foolio’s interpretation changed some of the lyrics.
In that case, Julio Foolio eventually pleaded no contest to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and was sentenced to six months’ probation.
While 6ix9ine didn’t respond to Foolio, he made headlines over the weekend flashed a million dollars in cash on a private plane and showed his haters the exact landing time he would land in New Jersey.
“On my way to New York. I got a million dollars on me and on my mom I’m alone, here’s what the jet lady wrote me, I copied and pasted it,” he wrote. “Arrival: 6:45pm. Airport: signature flight. 1 Airport Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960. Well, I’m with the kid who shot this video, but he’s like 5’4 140 solid, I swear.”
