Gillie Da Kid beats Detroit Pistons Assistant Coach in Shoot-Out

Gillie Da Kid has once again flexed his skills on the basketball court, defeating Detroit Pistons assistant coach Rashard Lewis in a 3-point shootout.

Video of Lewis’ bruising defeat in his own gym made the rounds on TikTok, with Gillie Da Kid asking: “2 for 9, you wanna just give it to me or I gotta shoot? I gotta shoot this? I’m about to hit the Detroit Pistons assistant coach in the Detroit Pistons gym!”

The podcast host is then seen nailing several buckets before the video ends.

Gillie Da Kid is no stranger to the court. He was seen in July with serious numbers during the Brotherly Love Pro-am League Celebrity Game.

Video of the game found Games worth millions of dollars host facing Team Ghee Funny in Camden, New Jersey on July 22, and he was seen landing three-pointers and hitting some trick shots while taunting the other team.

Gillie has previously faced Russ also on the pitch. In Season 1 of REVOLT TV Crew League, the pair could be seen battling it out in a series of one-on-ones, with Gillie emerging victorious in an 8-2 win against CHOMP 2 rapper. When a clip of the showdown surfaced on Instagram last May, Jim Jones Gillie challenged for a game of hangers yourself and said he wasn’t impressed with the podcaster’s skills.

“Kill you both with a bad shoulder and take advantage of Russ,” Jim Jones said in the comments, but Russ said The Dipset co-founder should think twice.

“Gillie hooted me like 8-2 lmao idk how you in that crazy shape smh show my floater tho,” Russ commented.

During the summer, the Detroit Pistons announced the return of their retro teal jerseys, and that they would be designed by Great Sean who was appointed creative director of innovation for his hometown team in December.

“It was really something I threw out into the universe one day,” Great Sean told The undefeated. “I mentioned it like, man, ‘They gotta give me a job!’ Talking about the Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers or Lions. I’m a huge Detroit fan. I ride or die with it. I’ve always said that, but especially with the Pistons. It’s crazy that it happened like this. I’m just truly grateful.”

In a post on Instagram on Friday (Nov. 11), Sean Don unveiled the “City Edition” NBA jersey, saying it was a “full circle” moment for the Detroit rapper.

“Chef created these jerseys with the @nike team and @nba for the @detroitpistons ‘City Edition’ jerseys,” Sean began. “Homage to a Detroit classic ‘St. Cecilia’s’ (hence the green). The 3 stars (for the 3 championships they accumulated) and the blue outline (because Detroit is a blue collar town).

He continued, “I actually went to St. Cecilia’s basketball camp when I was little, so it’s really full circle. They’re going to wear these jerseys in the game for about 10 games. They’re also on sale for a limited time, as long as stock is available.”

The shirts are currently available on the NBA website for $119.00.
