Test your maggot skills with the fan-created Slipknot Hedge Game

Ever since the game Wordle exploded earlier this year, there have been many variations of guessing games that have followed in its wake, including Heardle, which plays short snippets of song intros for users to guess what they are listening to. Luckily for Maggots, a guy Slip knot fan apparently designed a custom Heardle featuring only songs from Iowa’s greatest.

Although the title Slipknot Heardle, the game was not actually created by Slipknot or by Heardle, which is acquired by the Swedish streaming platform Spotify in early July. The “About” tab notes that it’s “prepared with Soundcloud” and “powered by Glitch.” Anyway, the songs are chosen at random from Slipknot’s discography, and you get six chances to guess the right song.

The first two snippets are only a second long, but as you skip more and more, the seconds increase, making it easier to guess the song. There is a search bar below the timeline that allows you to enter the name of the track and then you can submit it. Players can keep track of their progress while playing multiple times with a statistics button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Do you really get anything out of winning other than satisfaction and confirmation that you are a real maggot? No, but it’s still worth it. Test your skills by playing Slipknot Heardle here — although we should note, the application seems to be experiencing technical issues today because the correct answer is not coming up as an option to choose (we know it’s correct, don’t ask us). Maybe soon it will be fixed and we can continue to play every day as usual, but for now at least you can visit the site and see how it works.

Soon a new set of songs will be playable options Slipknot Heardle, as their upcoming seventh album The end, for now out Sept. 30 – just a few more days. Until then, you can catch them on theirs Knotfest Roadshow ride along Crown the empire and Ice Nine Kills. Get tickets here.
