Dermot Kennedy’s ‘Sonder’ starts at No.1 in the UK

Dermot Kennedy make it two-from-two as Probes (via Iceland) debuts at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart.

The Irishman bows on top of Official Album List, published Nov. 25, and shifts a market-leading volume on vinyl.

Probes equals the top spot of his debut in 2019, Without fearwhere the Dublin-born singer-songwriter became the first Irish act to top the UK charts with their debut album in over 20 years, OCC reports.

Christmas bells are ringing in the top 5, which AndrĂ© Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra comes in at No. 4 with Silver bells (Decca), a collection of Christmas classics. It is the Dutch classical crossover artist’s 13th UK top 10 album.

In the meantime Queen enjoy one miracle back to top 10. The legendary rock act’s 1989 LP The miracle (Virgo) blasts to No.6 in the latest chart thanks to an eight-disc reissue of previously unreleased cuts, some featuring the late Freddie Mercury’s vocals. The miracle topped the UK charts after its original release in 1989.

Nickelback roll into the top 10 with get started (BMG), the Canadian rockers’ tenth studio album. It is the band’s seventh top 10 appearance and first since 2017 Feed the machine went to No. 3.

Manchester rapper Meekz lands a career-best with his mixtape Respect The Come Up (Neighbourhood recordings), new on Nr. 12, while American heavy metal veterans Disturbed earning a fifth top 40 appearance with Divisive (Reprise), new at No. 17.

The late master David Bowie lands a 68Th UK top 40 with Moonage dream OST, the companion to Brett Morgen’s feature film of the same name. The posthumous recording is new at No. 20.

Christmas is less than a month away, and that means another burst of energy Michael BublĂ©’s festive gathering. Multi-platinum Christmas (Reprise) set goes up 50-26, and will likely continue in that trajectory for weeks to come.
