Try Not to Laugh Challenge – David Lee Roth’s isolated vocals from Van Halen’s ‘Runnin’ With the Devil’

It is not David Lee Roth‘s vocals on Van Halen base “Runnin’ With the Devil” isn’t and hasn’t always been great, but you’ve never heard them like this. You can blame the song saboteur There I ruined it to this new audio crime story.

There I Ruined It plays with all kinds of sound to create weird mash-ups and song mutations that are generally annoying. Like insert the vowel to Survivor’s “Eye of The Tiger over some warped piano music to “Amazing Grace.” Slowed down, pitch corrected all the way up, it’s ugly. Then again, There I Ruined It’s slug line is “I lovingly destroy your favorite songs.” So be it.

The manipulator has now played the isolated vocals from “Runnin’ With the Devil” by Roth (which is readily available on the Internet and has been for a while) for a new creation. However, this one is unique for its subtractions as opposed to adding a new, horrible piece to the mix. Gone are all the actual lyrics to “Runnin With the Devil,” but what remains are Roth’s signature punctuation of the piece. The “non-word” parts. Whoops, ahh-yahs, screams, woooo-hooos and more.

Check it out below. Try not to laugh! Good luck. And then try not to laugh at a few more There I Ruined It songs. Like Limp Bizkit‘Break Stuff’ is mixed together with “The Hokey Pokey”. And Eminem‘s “Without Me” as bluegrass. Complete with farm sound effects. It is well.
