The Conway machine moves with a heavy heart after announcing that his nephew has recently passed away.
The Buffalo, New York native shared the tragic news with her Instagram followers on Thursday (December 1), posting a heartfelt message expressing her grief and pain over the sudden loss.
In his post is God does not make mistakes the rapper shared two photos of himself and his nephew along with a video of him imparting wisdom to his younger relative.
“Mannnnn, I would never have to write something like this,” Conway wrote. “It took me a few days, I’ve been hoping it was like a bad dream or some shit, like no, it can’t be real… It’s been a very difficult month for me, from dealing with my mother’s health, my brother Hovain dies unexpectedly, and then the very next morning, I get the worst phone call I could ever imagine that my nephew lost his young life.”
He continued: “I’m hurt, I’m broken, I’m broken. I’m really struggling with this one. I’m confused. Like Why did this happen to my nephew? I wonder why god keeps doing this shit to me man , my damn heart hurts, shit it’s been broken since Chinegunn died… pray for the strength of my brother’s fear, his son’s mother and all their family.”
Conway The Machine continued to send his condolences to his brother, Dread, and promised to be by his side, just as Dread was when he returned home from prison in 2005. Griselda MC then called on her late nephew to watch over and guide him before revealing that he will be taking a break from music to process the huge loss.
“I’m not myself right now, I’m not in a good place, I feel like I’m slipping and I need some time to myself for a few days,” he added. “I don’t want to talk, text, Dm or any of that shit, keep the fake love over there cause I’m on a different type of time, it’s UP.”
“Respectfully… I don’t want to talk about music or music, I don’t want to hear about your crisis right now or hear about the jam you’re in, I’m completely out of favor…”
Sheek Louch shared his condolences by posting a series of praying hand emojis in the comments section, while his LOX brother Styles P added: “Stay strong love. And love is love. My condolences and many blessings to you and yours.”
Conway is no stranger to losses, and on his latest album God does not make mistakes, he opened up about some of the toughest moments he’s faced in life. The 40-year-old became particularly vulnerable on “Stressed out,” which found him struggling with the death of his newborn son, as well as the suicide of his cousin.
“Not too long” after my cousin hanged himself / I never told anyone, but I lost a son myself / Imagine being in the hospital, holding your dead baby / And he looks like you, you try to avoid being crazy / That’s why I drink a bottle a day for all the crap I’ve been bottling lately.” he rapped.
