Billboard Latin Music Awards: All Hall of Fame Winners Over the Years

Over the years in the history of the Billboard Latin Music Awards, a number of Latin icons – such as Celia Cruz (1994), Vicente Fernandez (1998) and Daddy Yankee (2021) – has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The special award and recognition is given to artists who have achieved worldwide recognition for their work that transcends musical genres and languages.

During his speech, Yankee – who was recently honored with the award and took the stage to a standing ovation – said: “This is incredible. Thank you to the family for this moment. As you all know, I was 15 years old with big dreams when I started like some of you maybe right now. And it took me three decades to understand that with discipline, wisdom and determination, you can get to this moment. It’s all about talent and hard work.”

This year, hitmaker Nicky Jam will join the elite group of artists who have entered the Hall of Fame. The award will recognize the reggaetón artist (known for anthemic songs like “El Perdón” and “Travesuras”), actor and entrepreneur for his prolific work. He will also appear at the award ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Watsco Center in Miami and will be broadcast live on Telemundo from 7 p.m. ET.

As has been the case for more than 20 years, the Billboard Latin Music Awards — which will be simulcast on Telemundo, Universo, Peacock and the Telemundo app and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional — coincides with Billboard‘s annual Latin Music Week, the largest and most important gathering of the Latin music industry that takes place in September. 26-Oct. 1.

In honor of the upcoming 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards show and Hispanic Heritage Month, here are all the Billboard Latin Hall of Fame recipients over the years.
