Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth Thor movie. But what if it was also a fourer hour also movies?
As for the cut, Hemsworth said Collider that this version of the movie was the most “bat – crazy, wild, four-hour clip I’ve ever seen.” Waititi chimed in, adding that “Really, about five times, it just gives up on the story and like just 10, 15 minutes of just telling jokes.”
As for why Waititi cut hours of footage out of the film, here was his explanation:
Right now, you’re thinking, ‘This is the greatest thing anyone has ever filmed in the history of filming things.’ And you get into editing. You think, ‘I still like it.’ And then, after about six months of being in the movie, you realize that it was fun on the day, but it has nothing to do with being in the movie.
We already know your next question: Will we ever get to see some kind of extended or director’s cut off Thor: Love and Thunder? Waititi did not sound very enthusiastic about the idea. “I do not want to see any of the footage ever come into my life,” he revealed.
Eventually, of course, we get one Love and Thunder Blu Ray. And there are definitely some deleted scenes on it. So maybe we should at least get a taste of what the four-hour cuts could have been that way. In the meantime Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters on July 8th.
