The first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power now streaming on Prime Video. The series includes dozens of main characters spread across the two episodes, with more to come, but Morfydd Clark’s Galadriel is clearly the star. But when Morfydd Clark first auditioned for the role in Rings of power… she had no idea what it was Lord of the Rings.
While talking to empireMorfydd Clark explained that she almost walked into her first audition for Rings of power without knowing what it was.
The first [audition], I didn’t know what I was auditioning for. The actress next to me looked over everything slyly and said, ‘Do you know what this is? It is Lord of the Rings.’ And I am eternally grateful to her.
Morfydd Clark continued, “I went into the bathroom and just stared at myself and said, ‘You need to pull yourself together. You have trained for this years. You know what to do, it’s in your blood.’ Because I had watched obsessively Lord of the Rings throughout my childhood.” Actors are not always aware of what they are auditioning for, especially for projects as big and secretive as Rings of power.
Our own Alex Maidy gave Rings of power a brilliant review. “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an absolute masterpiece of television that has upped the ante for what we can expect from a streaming series,Maidy wrote. “After watching this series, I don’t think we can ever call TV ‘the small screen’ again. The Rings of Power is an achievement in every sense of the word, with the best special effects, production design and music of any series to date. As a Lord of the Rings fan I am very happy and can’t wait to see where this story will go next. You can check out the rest of Maidy’s review right hereand make sure that let us know what you thought also in the series!
