The Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con was pretty exciting. In addition to designing the entire Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also teased that The Multiverse Saga would conclude in Phase 6 with two Avengers films: Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
When Avengers: Kang Dynasty hits theaters in 2025, it will be six years since the last Avengers movie graced our screens. That’s a pretty big gap, but Kevin Feige told MTV that his view of their place in the MCU has changed since the initial stages. He no longer sees them as the culmination of each phase, but rather the capper to entire sagas.
The truth is that when we did Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3, there were fewer projects over several years. It was smaller projects and individual character stories, and it felt appropriate at the time that after every two or three years, it took a phase, we’d do an ‘Avengers’ movie.
Feige continued, “As [Phase] 4, 5 and 6 came together, there are more projects in less years – because of all the amazing things we now get to do on Disney+ and getting characters from Fox, Fantastic Four and Deadpool – which it felt like if you know, surely after Infinity War and Endgame, we thought that Avengers movies are not capers. So many of our movies now – The Multiverse of Madness and what you’re about to see [Ant-Man and the Wasp:] Quantumania, all are great team-up movies that introduce large parts of the mythology… Avengers’ movies should really be the cap to a saga.It was announced a few days ago Avengers: Kang Dynasty will be instructed by Destin Daniel Cretton who assisted Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. However, Justin Kroll of Deadline stated it Twitter that Marvel is looking for another director to lead Avengers: Secret Wars.
Avengers: Kang Dynasty coming to the cinema May 2, 2025followed by Avengers: Secret Wars he 7 November 2025. Wish The Multiverse Saga contained more Avengers movie or are you fine with them being used as saga cappers?
