The Forest Hills: trailer offers a look at Shelley Duvall’s creature feature

Last week, we learned to Evil hotel‘s Shelley Duvall returns to the creature mode screen The forest hills, the first film she has made in twenty years. The first notice contained the information that The forest hills is a werewolf movie, which is good because it means that any werewolf references and images shown in the newly released trailer can’t be considered spoilers. You can watch the trailer in the embed above.

Written and directed by Scott Goldberg, The forest hills tells the story of a man plagued by nightmarish visions after sustaining head trauma while camping in the Catskill Forest.

Duvall is joined by Chiko Mendez (Suffocated by mothers), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), and Dee Wallace (Critters). The film’s IMDb page also lists prolific scream queen Debbie Rochon (Tromeo and Juliet) and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers‘ Marianne Hagan as an actor. Duvall plays “the mother of the mentally and emotionally disturbed Rico (Mendez), who serves as his inner voice.”

Goldberg told Deadline he was inspired to cast Duvall The forest hills because shecontributed to Evil hotel to be an absolute masterpiece in giving it her all, and acting in a way that really showed the fear and terror of a mother in isolation.

Scott Hansen produced The forest hills with Dreznick Goldberg Productions and Digital Thunderdome Studios. Goldberg serves as co-producer.
