The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game reveals the skills and characteristics of the killers

Yesterday, we shared information about the playable victim characters Tthe exas chainsaw massacre video game developed by Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham. Now it’s time to learn more about the killer characters, which include not only Leatherface, the cook and the hitchhiker from the original Chain saw movie (watch it HERE), but also recently introduced new characters Johnny and Sissy. Maps that provide information about the characters can be seen at the bottom of this article, and the developers have also dug into their abilities and attributes on the game’s official website.

The developers revealed,

Just like on the victim side, everyone has a job to do, a role to fill in the composition of each battle. Whether it’s Seek, Hunt, Trap, Bane, or Maim, taking down the victims is specified work, and work that this cast of madmen are exceptionally adept at. They also all have their trade-offs, their own little flaws that help balance the whole, making it much more effective to work as a team, while it’s still possible, if a little harder, to go about things as a lone wolf. Like how the victim side is built, this can all be tailored via the metagame, where players can tune the family to their liking.

Family Traits fall into three categories: Savage, Harvest, and Endurance. These attributes vary depending on the family member you play as and can be set to your liking by unlocking attribute points in the skill tree and assigning them to one of the three categories. In addition to attribute points, certain perks in the skill tree will also buff an attribute category by equipping it, but more on perks when we cover the entire metagame. Now let’s talk about the three main attribute categories.

Ferocity: This trait directly affects the amount of damage you deal with melee hits, but shouldn’t be seen as simple strength. Think of Savagery as an in-game kill skill level, used in conjunction with Endurance as a way to determine full damage potential.

Harvest: Harvest affects the amount of blood you get to grandfather when interacting with victims. However, it does not affect the amount of blood that comes from buckets around the map. Melee, fighting with victims, and executions are the specific interactions that can fill your vial with blood, depending on your harvest state.

Stamina: Similar to the Victim’s Attribute, stamina affects stamina drain and recharge rate. On the family side, however, melee also drains stamina, making the stamina attribute important for dealing damage as well as mobility.

So you see, these traits all work together to make up the type of killer a given family member is. Given that you can’t attack without stamina left in the pool, Savagery and Endurance are tied together in interesting ways. Mix in the fact that your harvest rating will affect how much blood you’ll walk away with after each brawl, and you can start to see how the balance is shaping up with our cannibals.

The special abilities that the killers want are:

The search ability allows the chef to lean in and listen carefully for any strange sounds he might hear around the map. If a sound is detected, he can focus on it and reveal the location of the victim unfortunate enough to make the most noise.

Slut: BANE
Sissy gained some unique skills on her travels, such as her Bane Ability. Make poisons from local plants and then blow the powder in the faces of victims or use them to contaminate objects around the map.

Hitchhiker: TRAP
The hitchhiker is handy with a pile of bones, and his Trap Ability is an extension of that. The macabre artist can place traps around the map that alert him when an unsuspecting victim enters.

Johnny: HUNT
Johnny is a stalker, a predator, and like any true predator, he is a skilled hunter. His hunting ability allows him to see and track the fresh footprints of his victims around the map.

Leather surface: MAIM
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Leatherface carries the saw, the saw is Maim Ability. He can use it in a number of different ways, not least by dismembering any victims he might get his hands on.

Fight off The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game will pit 4 victim characters against 3 killer characters. The story of the game is set before the events of the original film and has the following setup:

When Maria Flores disappeared and local law enforcement seemed to stall in their search, her younger sister Ana teamed up with some of Maria’s friends from college to find the trail. It’s time for you to meet our cast of victims.

The cast that has been assembled to bring The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game characters to life include genre icon Kane Hodder, who does the motion-capture performance for Leatherface; Edwin Neal, who provided the voice of the Hitchhiker, the character he played in the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; plus Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Kristina Klebe (Don’t kill it), Sean Whalen (The people under the stairs), and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Swap at Night).
