‘Spirit Halloween’ Trailer: First Look at Movie Based on Store

Just in time to get people ready for the spookiest time of the year, another trailer Spirit Halloween: The Movie has been released. The film is made in collaboration between Strike Back Studios and Spirit Halloween, the season’s costume shop. It’s basically a tween horror, sort of Goosebumps or Scary stories to tell in the dark. It features a cast of mostly new actors making their film debuts.

The movie itself tells the story of three kids who decide they should spend a night locked in a Spirit Halloween store. While there, they become involved in the story of Alec Windsor, a local man who died under mysterious circumstances. He is portrayed by Christopher Lloyd. Over the course of the evening, they realize that the store may not be what it seems. The animatronics in the store begin to come to life and try to chase the children.

The official movie synopsis is as follows:

When a new pop-up Halloween store opens in a deserted mall, three middle school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating dare to spend the night locked inside the store on Halloween night. But they soon discover that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit that has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The children will have to embark on an exciting and spooky adventure to survive the night and avoid being possessed themselves.

The film will see a limited release in theaters across the country starting on September 30, 2022, while also heading to Video-On-Demand services shortly thereafter on October 11. It’s also headed for a Blu-ray and soundtrack release a little bit later down the line. Spirit Halloween itself is a Halloween supply store that opens seasonally nationwide. Dates vary by location, but most stores will have closed their doors by November 2nd.
