Deadline gives some background on Room 428‘s directors:
The Pierce Brothers have most recently directed the horror film The miserable, which came in as a sleeper hit for IFC Midnight. Upon the film’s theatrical release in 2020, it secured the top spot at the US box office for six consecutive weekends, becoming the first to hold that record since the release of Avatar in 2009. The miserable became available for streaming on Netflix on July 31 and was subsequently listed as one of the 10 most watched films in the United States. The Pierce Brothers made their feature directorial debut with the zombie cult film Deadheadswhich launched on the festival circuit in 2011.
The Pierce brothers also happen to be the sons of Bart Pierce, who worked on the special effects of the original That Evil death. I enjoyed The miserable and usually enjoy the films Derrickson makes as well, so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the film they make together.
