Reginald the Vampire trailer: Jacob Batalon stars in delicious new Syfy series

A few weeks ago, Syfy released one teaser trailer for their upcoming series Reginald the Vampire – and there really wasn’t much to that video. Now they’ve released another trailer, and this one actually previews what the show’s writing and characters are going to be like. And it promises that the series is “delicious”. Reginald the Vampire is scheduled to premiere on Syfy on October 5th, which is the same night Chucky season 2 begins airing on Syfy (as well as USA Network). Reginald the Vampire will also stream on Hulu after it’s on Syfy. Amazon has acquired the streaming rights in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Cineflix Rights is the international distributor.

Syfy has ordered 10 episodes of the show, described as an “hour-long drama.” Actor Jacob Battalion (which starred Peter Parker’s best friend Ned in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Homewith appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame Along the road) Reginald Vampire will focus on

an unlikely hero, Reginald Baskin (Batalon), plunges headlong into a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires as an unlikely hero who will have to navigate all kinds of obstacles – the girl he loves but can’t be with , a bully manager at work and the vampire boss who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers that he has a few unrecognized powers.

Batalon is joined in the cast by Mandela Van Peebles (Jigsaw) as Maurice Miller, “who finds himself in the least expected situation, vampire life coach for Reginald. Which is complicated” and Em Haine (Fargo) as Sarah Kinney, “Reginald’s human counterpart at the Slushy Shack. She’s smart, funny, and learning to fight for the dreams that are important to her.” They are regulars in the series

Recurring actors include Aren Buchholz (Supernatural) as Todd, “Reginald’s manager at the Slushy Shack”; Savannah Basley (Surreal Property) as Angela, “an ancient vampire of great power”; Georgia Waters (Siren) as Penelope, a “dangerous and beautiful vampire”; and newcomer Marguerite Hanna as Ashley, “a colleague at the Slushy Shack and a lover of conspiracy theories and urban legends with a deadpan sense of humor.”

Sean Yves Lessard (Heartland) is also in the cast. While it’s not clear if he’s on regular or recurring status, we do know who he’s playing. Deadline says his character is “Lebron. Immaculately dressed, this vampire is someone you don’t want to mess with as he delivers a message on behalf of his fearsome boss.”

The series comes to us from Great Pacific Media and Modern Story Company. Harley Peyton, fresh off Chucky series, writes, executive produces and serves as showrunner on Reginald the Vampire. Jeremiah Chechik executive produces and directs. Todd Berger and Lindsay Macadam also serve as executive producers, with Julie DeCresce serving as co-executive producer.

Reginald the Vampire is based on Johnny B. Truant’s author Fat vampire series of novels.
