My Best Friend’s Exorcism: Grady Hendrix Adaptation Coming to Amazon in September

Last year it was announced that Elsie Fisher (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes) would participate My Best Friend’s Exorcisman adaptation of a novel by Grady Hendrix (buy it HERE). Now it has been revealed to My Best Friend’s Exorcism will reach Amazon Prime on 30th of SeptemberTh. So we should see a trailer for this movie very soon.

Directed by Damon Thomas (Penny Dreadful) from a screenplay by Jenna Lamia (Good Girls), My best friends Exorcism has the following synopsis:

The year is 1988. High school students Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after a night of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen starts acting… different. She is moody. She is irritable. And bizarre events keep happening when she’s around. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries—and as their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, Abby and Gretchen’s fate will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship strong enough to beat the devil?

Fisher and Miller are joined in the cast by Cathy Ang (And just like that…), Rachel Ogechi Kanu (Cheers to your life), and Chris Lowell (Promising young woman). We know Lowell is playing a character described as a “muscular meathead” “who, along with his brother, is doing a ‘Faith and Fitness’ at the teens’ elementary school. He sees that Gretchen is possessed and needs an exorcism.”

Coming to us from Endeavor Content and Amazon Studios, My Best Friend’s Exorcism is produced by The Gotham Group, Quirk Productions and Freaky / Happy death day director Christopher Landon.

I haven’t read Hendrix’s novel, but it sounds like an interesting movie, and I’m going to check it out when it hits Amazon at the end of next month. Have you read My Best Friend’s Exorcism? Are you looking forward to this adaptation? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
