Video game Killer Klowns from Outer Space reveals the five classes of playable Klowns

The creators of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game have revealed the five different classes of playable Klowns

That Killer Klowns from outer space video game will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One sometime this year, and while we still don’t have a specific release date for this one, we do have an update to share: the game’s developers have revealed the five different classes of Killer Klowns that players will be able to play as! IGN got the exclusive on this one and their video reveal can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Killer Klowns from outer space (the film) was directed by Stephen Chiodo from a script he wrote with his brother Charles Chiodo. Stephen and Charles also produced the film with their other brother, Edward Chiodo. It has the following synopsis: When teenagers Mike and Debbie see a comet crash outside their sleepy little town, they investigate and discover a pack of murderous aliens that look a lot like circus clowns. They try to alert the local authorities, but everyone assumes their story is a hoax. Meanwhile, the clowns set about harvesting and eating as many people as they can. It’s not until they kidnap Debbie that Mike decides it’s up to him to stop the clowns’ bloody rampage.

That Killer Klowns from outer space video games are an asymmetric (3 vs 7) multiplayer horror game that pits three Klowns against seven humans. The Klowns win by capturing most – or all – of the human citizens of Crescent Cove, while the Humans win by either disabling the Klowns’ Big Top spaceship, escaping the map before time runs out, or keeping the majority of the city’s population alive for the entire round.

The five classes of playable Klown characters are:

Trappists: Based on Rudy from the Killer Klowns movie, the Trapster is a trapping class designed to lock people down and help other Klowns find them. His main weapon is the Jawbreaker Mace, which causes an explosion of popcorn on contact. When popcorn sticks to people, all the clowns are able to see them through walls and on the map, and then the Trapster is able to tag enemies with each strike of the mace. He also has a deployable popcorn mine that will also tag any human that runs over it. For a more grotesque trap option, he also has the Baby Klown, a disgusting caterpillar-like creature that latches onto people and holds them in place.

Tracker: Similar to the Trapster, the Tracker – inspired by Spikey from the film – is able to use popcorn to highlight people to the rest of the Klown team. Tracker has a Popcorn Bazooka for an explosive, long-range option, and the Balloon Dog that points at the nearest human. As for enemies trying to escape, Tracker can chase them down on foot thanks to being able to jump over obstacles, or instead jump into his invisible car which can be driven around the outdoor areas of the map.

Scout: Scout Jumbo is, as his name suggests, a scout class designed to push beyond the front lines and seek out enemies. He is the only Klown who can use Klown Jump to leap into previously uncharted territory, making him an ideal scouting option. His ability to hypnotize will draw people towards him, or he can quickly move close to them using Lackey Swap; a skill that instantly lets the scout switch places with a nearby AI minion.

Fighter: The Fighter is, as his name suggests, the direct combat class of the group. Armed with a pair of boxing gloves that can be used to punch people, he is the most agile of the group. But this Klown, based on Shorty from the movies, is more than just a brawler. His Pizza Box skill will be familiar to anyone who has played a prop hunting game as it transforms him into a pizza box. Practical for a bit of stealth between rough and tumble. Like the Tracker, the Fighter is also capable of quickly chasing people with a vehicle, but his Speedy Tricycle can also be used indoors.

Tank: The last class, inspired by Chubby from the movie, is the Tank. Armed with an Extendable Jawbreaker that can be charged for increased reach and power, Tanken is the most physically formidable Klown in the squad. With his Sticky Bash ability, he is able to lay down a carpet of Candy Candy that traps anyone caught in it, and the Rage Rush skill allows him to charge into enemies and bash through obstacles. The tank is also capable of recreating one of the film’s most memorable scenes: he can insert a straw into any human trapped in a cotton cocoon and slurp them up to gain temporary movement speed.
