Johnny Depp continues to win in the wake of his victory against ex-wife Amber Heard in their highly publicized defamation case. The actor announced on Thursday that he was selling prints from his art collection through a British gallery and managed to sell 780 pieces within hours, netting him $3.6 million.
The rush for Johnny Depp’s art was so intense that the gallery’s website briefly went down. The art was sold through Caste Fine Art’s 37th gallery located in Birmingham, England. The collection, titled “Friends and Heroes,” depicts pop art portraits of four people who inspired him, including Al Pacino, Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards, Bob Dylan and Elizabeth Taylor. In a statement published on the gallery’s website, Depp said, “I have always used art to express my feelings and to reflect on those who mean the most to me, like my family, friends and people I admire. My paintings surround my life, but I keep them to myself and limit myself. No one should ever limit.”
It seems that Johnny Depp finds different paths to success. He has acting, music and now art. Johnny Depp’s comeback is still underway and it’s looking pretty bright.
