After over three decades, we finally have a worthy successor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s original Predator. After three sequels and two spin-off match-ups with Alien franchise, Exchange debuts a completely unique approach to the sci-fi thriller series, set three hundred years in the past with a primarily native cast of characters portraying Comanche warriors forced to face the masked alien predator. Directed by 10 Cloverfield LaneDan Trachtenberg, Exchange will premiere exclusively on Hulu.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with the cast and crew of Exchange about the project. Starts with star Amber Middle Dogs (Legion), we discussed the challenge of picking up this franchise after so many lackluster continuation attempts. She also talked about the preparation for playing this role and what it took to perform the dubbed number that makes Exchange the first feature film entirely performed in the Comanche language. I also spoke with Dakota Beavers about his first acting credit and what it was like to play an older brother very different from what we usually see on screen. Finally, I talked to director Dan Trachtenberg and producer Jhane Myers about telling such a different type Predator history and where the franchise could go from here.
Exchange premiered on Hulu on August 5th.
