Last week, Barbie Ferreira revealed that she will not reprise the role of Kat Hernandez in HBO’s third season Euphoria. Now we know what she’ll be doing next instead, as it’s been announced that she’ll be joining Oscar winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) in the thriller The swap housewhich comes to us from Blumhouse Television and Amazon Prime Video.
We heard about first The swap house when DeBose’s involvement was announced a few weeks ago. The film is written and directed by the duo of Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, whose previous credits include the 2019 film Blow the man downepisode of the recent miniseries adaptation by Stephen King The standand episodes of the AMC+ series Moonhaven.
Described as a “tense, psychological and sensual” thriller, The swap house will see DeBose take on the role of
an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant – a farm-to-table affair on a remote property – where she battles kitchen chaos, a questionable investor, crushing self-doubt… and the powerful spirit of the estate’s former owner, who threatens to sabotage her at every turn.
Details about the character Ferreria will play have not yet been revealed. In addition to EuphoriaFerreira’s credits include Unpregnanta very brief appearance in Jordan Peele’s Nixand episodes of Divorce, Afterparty, and Robot chicken.
Keep filming The swap house is expected to begin in the fall. The project is being produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, Secret Engine’s Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin and Drew Houpt and Divide/Conquer’s Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath. Blumhouse Television’s Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold serve as executive producers.
