Halo: Season 2 of the Paramount+ TV series is now filming in Iceland

Paramount+ renewed theirs Hi TV series a month before the program even began to be broadcast – and given the fact that the first episode of Hi ended up being that of the streaming service most watched premiere, it’s no surprise that they’re moving forward with their Season 2 plans. Now, the show’s official Twitter account has shared a photo from the set to announce that Halo Season 2 has begun filming in Iceland!

Hi stars Pablo Schreiber as master chief,

Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to destroying humanity.

Schreiber is joined in the cast by Natasha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, “the brilliant, conflicted and inscrutable creator of the Spartan super-soldiers”; Bokeem Woodbine as Soren, “a morally complex privateer on the fringes of human civilization whose fate will bring him into conflict with his former military masters and his old friend, the Master Chief”; and newcomer Yerin Ha as Kwan, “a smart, bold 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for both of them.”

Also in the cast are Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy and Danny Sapani, with Jen Taylor as Cortana, “the most advanced AI in human history and potentially the key to the survival of the human race”.

That Hi the series is said to “weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.” The show is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Season 1 showrunners Kyle Killen and Steven Kane, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television, in association with 343 Industries, director Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture, Scott Pennington for Chapter Eleven, and Karen Richards. David Wiener has replaced Killen and Kane as showrunner on season 2 and is now an executive producer on the series.

I have not seen Hi season 1 yet, but I intend to get around to it at some point. Our own Alex Maidy gave the show a 6/10 review you can read HERE.
