Don’t worry honey: Olivia Wilde comments on Spitgate rumours

The premiere of Olivia Wilde’s Don’t worry, honey at the Venice International Film Festival was largely overshadowed by a handful of controversies, namely Spitgate.

During the premiere, recordings occured that appeared to show Harry Styles spitting on Chris Pine before sitting down next to him. Olivia Wilde recently appeared on The Late Showand host Stephen Colbert asked her outright if Harry Styles had actually spat on Chris Pine.

Well, he didn’t. But I think it’s a perfect example of people wanting to look for drama everywhere they can. Harry didn’t spit on Chris,

A representative for Chris Pine also called the whole Spitgate story ridiculous. “[It’s] a complete fabrication and the result of a strange online illusion that clearly deceives and allows for foolish speculation…To be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine, said the representative. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any other suggestion is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.

Stephen Colbert also addressed another rumor Don’t worry, honey regarding a feud between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh, who starred in the film. “I have nothing but respect for Florence’s talent,Wilde said. “She is fantastic. She is on the set of her film Dune right now and there’s nothing cooler than a busy actress. I have nothing against her for some reason.Wilde added that very few of her male directors are asked such questions. “People actually wanted to talk about the movie itself,Wilde said. “They are praised for being tyrannical. They can be researched time and time again, it still doesn’t overtake conversations about their actual talent or about the films themselves. It’s something we’ve come to expect. It’s just very different standards that are created for women and men around the world.

Don’t worry, honey coming to the cinema 23 September. You can check out a review of the film from our very own JimmyO right here.
