Christian Bale’s dream Star Wars role? Notoriously clumsy stormtrooper

Christian Bale has been part of some of the biggest film franchises in history: playing the Dark Knight in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, appearing as John Connor in the Terminator: Salvation and recently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Thor: Love and Thunder. Now Bale has revealed who he will play if he is ever lucky enough to be involved Star wars story.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote his latest, AmsterdamChristian Bale recalled a fond memory from his childhood related to Star wars. “Everything I ever wanted in Star wars should be in one Star wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something when I walked through. The real geeks who were watching Star wars Too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door when he comes through. I wanted to be that guy.”

Christian Bale is, of course, referencing one of the most famous gaffes in movie history, a beloved movie moment that’s almost too silly to believe exists. And like everyone else who watched Star wars several times was Laurie Goode (who played the unnamed stormtrooper), who as surprised as anyone to see the footage made it to the finished film.

A few years ago, Christian Bale revealed that he was actually in negotiations for one unspecified role in Solo: A Star Wars Storysay “There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions.” He also noted his friendship with the stream Star wars producer Kathleen Kennedy, whom he knew back in the 1987s Empire of the Sun. So who knows, maybe that discussion isn’t exactly in a galaxy far, far away.

Christian Bale’s latest, David O. Russell’s Amsterdamgoes to the cinema October 4.
