Cameron Monaghan first played Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Set five years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the game followed Kestis as he became a target of the Empire and was hunted by the Imperial Inquisitor as he attempted to complete his training, come to terms with his troubled past, and rebuild the fallen Jedi Order. The game was a great success, and a successor was officially announced earlier this year. Given that the in-game character model of Cal Kestis looks identical to Cameron Monaghan, there have been rumors that the actor could also play the role in live-action.
While talking to Screen Rantconfirmed Cameron Monaghan that there has been interest in bringing Cal Kestis into the live-action Star Wars universe.
Of course there is interest. That’s about all I can say. [Laughs]
It’s too early to tell where Cal Kestis’ adventure will take him, but with all the different live action Star wars projects in the works, there are many places where the young Padawan could conceivably appear. Maybe second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi? Or, if he lives long enough, maybe even meet with Luke Skywalker to help build the Jedi Academy?
That The Fallen Order successor Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, finds Cal Kestis beginning to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy as he must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit. Accompanied by his faithful companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally with a number of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being developed for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC and will be released in 2023. Would you like to see Cal Kestis make the jump to live-action?
