Ballerina: Ian McShane to reprise his role as Winston for Ana De Arma’s John Wick spin-off

That John Wick franchise has been running in full force since its humble beginnings as a mid-budget action flick that re-established Keanu Reeves as an action star. Recently, a teaser trailer was released for the next (and possibly final) installment in the franchise, highlighting Mr. Wick uses nunchucks on his feed. The film has also upped its action game by featuring such martial arts talent as the legendary Donnie Yen and the star of the recent Accident Man: Hitman’s HolidayScott Adkins.

Details have also been revealed for the prequel series about the Winston character Continental. And recently chops the spin-off starring Ana De Armas, which showed her struggle No time to diejustified Ballerinahave started filming with Underworld director Len Wiseman at the helm. Ballerina follows the story of a woman with her own special skills as she embarks on a mission of revenge against the assassins who killed her family. The Hollywood Reporter now reveals that Ian McShane, who plays Winston Scott, will reprise his role in the spin-off.

This could mean a plot involving the assassins who targeted Ana De Armas’ character’s family may be tied to The Continental in some form. Shay Hatten, who had written John Wick chapters 3 and 4, returns to write this in-universe entry. Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and John Wick director Chad Stahelski are on board as producers. Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

Lionsgate is also recently reported to be looking at proposals for one John Wick video games with a massively interactive experience. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has said, “I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there’s a big AAA game to be made out of ‘John Wick.’ We’ve made proposals. We’re certainly interested in moving forward with it, but I don’t want to say anything more about it at this time.”
