Avengers: Kang Dynasty finds a writer in Rick & Morty’s Jeff Loveness

During San Diego Comic-Con this summer, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that The Multiverse Saga would end in Phase 6 with Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Since then, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton signed to control Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Deadline now reports that a writer is also on board.

Jeff Loveness, who has recently written Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniahave signed to write Avengers: Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. You don’t know much about Avengers: Kang Dynasty at this point, but it’s naturally assumed that Kang the Conqueror will be featured in a big way. Jonathan Majors made his MCU debut in the first season of Loki like He Who Remains, but he will play the full-fledged Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. As Jeff Loveness wrote that movie, he’s probably the best person to tackle the character for it Avengers successor.

Kevin Feige has earlier sang Jonathan Majors’ praises and explained how Kang will be a completely different villain than Thanos. “What I love is that he is completely different from Thanos.Feige said. “That it’s not just how about there’s a bigger purple guy with a helmet? That’s not what Kang is. Kang is a very different type of villain, and the fact that he is many, many different characters is what is most exciting and sets him apart the most.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when it hits theaters 17 February 2023.
