Aquaman 2: Jason Momoa confirms he shot scenes with different Batman actors

Jason Momoa confirms he shot scenes with various Batman actors in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but doesn’t know what will end up in the film.

The DC Universe is in an awkward place right now. Although James Gunn and Peter Safran map out a new multi-year plan for the franchise, there are still several films developed under the old regime that have yet to be released, including Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The coming Aquaman sequel is said to contain Ben Affleck reprises his role as Batmanbut it is rumored that Michael Keaton also shot scenes as Batman for the film.

While talking to The packagingJason Momoa confirmed that he had shot scenes with “a few different Batmans,“but added it”you just don’t know what’s going to happen and we’ll see what the end product is.” This could mean we could see Ben Affleck’s Batman, Michael Keaton’s Batman, both, or neither; such is the state of the DC Universe at the moment. We will see both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton reprise their Batman roles in The lightningbut depending on what happens with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomit may be the last we see of them.

As for Aquaman and the Lost KingdomJason Momoa teased that the film is “truly a journey with the brothers. Patrick Wilson is phenomenal and there’s just a lot of themes going on in it. What I wanted to do was not have a foreign force trying to attack us. It will not be something that is from an external world. It’s about what we’re doing to our planet, and we’re accelerating what will happen when you melt the caps. It is our future. You see it happening right now.

We should hear more about James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the new DC Universe in the near future, but Jason Momoa has teased that he wants to stick with the franchise. “It was very amazing,Momoa said last week in relation to him last meeting with Warner Bros. “I’m at home with Warner Bros. and they like a lot of the stuff I do. We have many good things coming.” Momoa also commented on the rumors that he will be recast as Aquaman after the release of the sequel. “I will always be Aquaman,Momoa added. “Rumors are… I’ll always be Aquaman. Isn’t there someone who comes in and takes the sh-t. And then there might be some other characters as well. I can play other things too. I can be funny and wild and charming once in a while.

In addition to Jason Momoa as Aquaman, the upcoming Aquaman the sequel also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Amber Heard as Mera. We don’t know too much about the film, only that it will find Aquaman forming an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally in an attempt to save Atlantis and the rest of the planet. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom coming to the cinema December 25.
