Knives Out 3: Rian Johnson has ‘Big Cloud of Ideas’ for next post

Though Glass onion: A Knives Out Mystery just came to Netflix last month, director Rian Johnson already has some ideas brewing for what a third film might look like.

Talking to Empire Magazine recently, Johnson said that the next film he plans to make would be the third entry in the film Knives out series and that he has some ideas brewing for what Benoit Blanc’s next adventure could be.

“I’ll make the next one [Benoit Blanc movie] next,” Johnson said. “Because that’s the most exciting thing right now for me. It has served me very well. I feel like any film I make, I have to make it because I can’t imagine making anything else. I’m jumping into the next Benoit Blanc next because I can’t think of another story … I have a big cloud of ideas, but it hasn’t all come into focus yet. It’s exciting though, and it’s very, very different from this one. That’s what I’m excited about.”

Glass onion: A Knives Out Mystery was again written and directed by Rian Johnson, who produced the film with Ram Bergman via their T-Street Productions banner. The sequel follows Daniel Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc as he travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects.

Along with Daniel Craig is Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Edward Norton (Fight Club), Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures), Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton), Kate Hudson (Almost famous), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Jessica Henwick (Love and monsters), and Ethan Hawke (Spooky).
