Netflix is apparently going beyond the mobile platform for one of its upcoming games. A new job posting notes that the streamer is hiring for a AAA game on PC that looks to be a shooter of some sort.

As seen by MobileGamer.bizthat post it’s about being on duty, but looking for a game director for an upcoming AAA PC game.

“We are looking for a creative and highly skilled Game Director to help us create the game direction and creative vision of a brand new AAA PC game,” the post reads. “As a Game Director, you will be the creative director of one of Netflix’s first generation of in-house developed original games.”

This is notable in that Netflix has typically only released games on the mobile platform, and this specifically calls out the PC. The second part of the list sticks out because it says “FPS and/or third-person shooter experience preferred.” Many of the games that Netflix currently offers are relatively casual or not based on action. The listing also says it will have “live operations” and that the ideal candidate will have “extensive experience” making live service games. But like the other games on Netflix’s platform, it apparently won’t have microtransactions, as the listing notes that this director would be able to “create, ship, and run a game without any competitive design constraints due to monetization.”

It also seems like Netflix would potentially try to put this world into a movie or TV series. The job posting calls for candidates who will be able to create characters and a narrative “worthy of a Netflix movie/TV series.” That director would also have to “help expand the IP into other media.”

This study behind this list is probably the same new team is led by Chacko Sonnywho left Blizzard Entertainment in September 2021. He was hailed as a “stabilizing force” according to Bloomberg’s anonymous sources and Netflix VP of Gaming Mike Verdu praised Sonny’s decision to work with the streaming giant.
