Waller-Bridge’s character, named Helena according to a recent profile on the film by Empire, will be included in the film as a central part of the story, although it is unknown exactly what she will be up to. According to Waller-Bridge herself, Helena is “a mystery and a wonder,” while director James Mangold describes her as “happy, charming, the girl next door, a grifter.” Harrison Ford took the time to call her “a pioneer of ethical accounting”.

While Waller-Bridge couldn’t talk much about her character, she described how she landed the part, saying it all came from a conversation with producer Kathleen Kennedy, and she ended up quickly reading the script and saying yes.

“Kathy was in London and asked to have dinner with me and casually mentioned it,” recalls Waller-Bridge. “I immediately ordered ten bottles of wine. Then it was the fastest I’ve ever read a script; I came out of a kind of haze afterwards. I just couldn’t believe how much fun I had and how moved I was. And then I had a Zoom and screamed, ‘Yes!’ on them all.”
