Watch the first 10 minutes of Black Adam when the film is digitized

Warner Bros. Pictures have released opening scene from the Dwayne Johnson-led superhero film Black Adam, which currently has a worldwide gross of over $360 million at the box office. It is now available for streaming on all VOD platforms.

The 10-minute clip teases the titular anti-hero’s origin story, which involves a brave boy’s desire to free his people from slavery. This leads to him becoming the champion of the Wizarding Council, which grants him Shazam’s powers. The video also introduces Bodhi Sabongui’s Amon Tomaz and Sarah Shahi’s Adrianna Tomaz.

Black Adam features the introduction of Dwayne Johnson as Teth-Adam, or the titular anti-hero, whose backstory was first teased during 2019’s Shazam! This marks the character’s live-action debut after only appearing in animated shows and movies such as Young Justice.

Joining Johnson are Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Other cast members include Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer and Uli Latukefu in undisclosed roles.

Based on the DC Comics character created by Otto Binder and CC Beck, the film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Jungle Cruise) from a script written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshiryani. The producers are Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions along with FlynnPicturesCo’s Beau Flynn, with Scott Sheldon overseeing the project for FlynnPictureCo.
