Ryan Reynolds wrote a Deadpool Christmas movie

While doing campaigns for him carol musical adaptation SpiritedRyan Reynolds opened up about his dream to include a musical number in one Deadpool movie. This prompted him to reveal his original plans to actually do a Christmas theme Deadpool movie.

talking with The big problemReynolds confirmed that he, along with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, had previously written a Christmas movie centered around Deadpool four years ago. However, the project never moved forward due to the Disney and Fox merger.

“I would love to see a song and dance act in one Deadpool movie,” Reynolds said. “Four years ago, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney’s takeover of Fox, and it was never made.”

He added: “Maybe one day we’ll get to make that movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s full Deadpool Christmas movie. Then one day.”

Deadpool 3 was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from an earlier draft of Bob’s Burgers the duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously assured fans that it will remain an R-rated film like the first two films, which would make it the studio’s first film with the said mature rating.

It will act as the first movie in Deadpool film series released after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.

The first two Deadpool films are both box office successes as they earned a combined global gross of over $1.5 billion. They were both written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with the former directed by Tim Miller and Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch.
