HBO has announced that Mike White’s comedy-drama anthology The white lotus has officially been given an early third season renewal. The white lotus Season 3 will once again feature a whole new group of guests at another White Lotus property.
“There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO and no people I’d rather collaborate with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team,” White said in a statement. “I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my incredibly talented collaborators at The white lotus.”
“Reflecting on The white lotus‘ humble, run-and-gun origins as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be amazed at how Mike orchestrated one of the liveliest and most critically acclaimed shows,” added Head of HBO Drama Series and Films Francesca Orsi .” And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in Season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, singular vision. His courage to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, paired with his signature irreverent humor and lively instructional style, has us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we’ve come to love. We couldn’t be more excited to have the chance to collaborate on a third season together.”
The white lotus Season 2 takes place in a new location and introduces a whole new set of characters. The next chapter leaves Hawaii behind and follows another group of vacationers as they fly to another White Lotus estate and settle temporarily among its inhabitants. It is set in an exclusive Sicilian resort and follows the exploits of various guests and staff over the course of a week.
The new cast includes Michael Imperioli as Dominic Di Grasso, Aubrey Plaza as Harper Spiller, F. Murray Abraham as Bert Di Grasso, Tom Hollander as Quentin, Adam DiMarco as Albie Di Grasso, Haley Lu Richardson as Porta Theo James as Cameron, Meghann Fahy as Daphne, Will Sharpe as Ethan and newcomer Leo Woodall as Jack. Season 1 alum Jennifer Coolidge will also reprise her role as Tanya McQuoid.
The white lotus is created, written and directed by Mike White (Enlightened). It is executive produced by White, David Bernard, Mark Kamine and Nick Hall.
