Black Adam’s Opening Weekend Projections Revealed

Black Adam is one of the most anticipated films of the year and if the box office tracking is accurate, it will also be one of the most successful films of Dwayne Johnson’s acting career.

According to The Hollywood Reporter in a recent report, the upcoming animated film is expected to earn between $70 million and $75 million over the weekend of 21-23. October. Those numbers could also be higher, as sources close to The Hollywood Reporter note that tracking studies show Black Adam is in a similar range as Marriedwhich debuted to $80 million in its opening weekend.

Should that number hold, it would mark the biggest box office opening of Johnson’s career — off the top of his head Fast and furious film in which he starred. For Johnson’s part, the actor has been doing a ton of marketing for the film, appearing at the first game of the 2022 NFL season to debut a trailer, stopping by San Diego Comic-Con to talk about the film and more. For his efforts, the film looks set to make quite a strong debut.

“Nearly 5,000 years after being granted the almighty powers of the Old Gods—and just as quickly imprisoned—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly grave, ready to unleash his unique form of justice upon the modern world,” the synopsis says .

Joining Johnson are Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Other cast members include Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer and Uli Latukefu in undisclosed roles.
