An official trailer for the upcoming Apple movie Raymond and Ray has been released and features brother duo Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke coming together over their father’s funeral.
The film, from Rodrigo García and Alfonso Cuarón, is set to open in theaters on October 14, 2022, before streaming on Apple TV+ on October 21, 2022.

Raymond and Ray is written and directed by Rodrigo García (Albert Nobbs). It will center on the story of the titular half-brothers, “who have lived in the shadow of a terrible father. Somehow, they each still have a sense of humor, and his funeral is a chance for them to reinvent himself. There’s anger, there’s pain, there’s foolishness, there’s maybe love, and there’s definitely grave-digging,” reads the description.
The film is produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, Bone Curtis and Julie Lynn for Mockingbird Pictures. It will be produced by Gabriela Rodriguez and Shea Kammer.
McGregor recently returned to the world of Star wars to Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series, in which he reprized his role as the titular Jedi Master. He will also next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio movie.
As for Hawke, it’s been a busy year for him starring in the Marvel Studios Disney+ series Moon Knightas well as in Robert Eggers’ viking revenge film The Norwegianand Blumhouse’s horror films The black phone. Next, he will star in Netflix’s Knives out 2which will premiere in cinemas in November and on 23 December 2022 on Netflix.
