Check out Play octopus clip revealing the frontman’s identity below:
Play octopus comes from writer-director Hwang Dong-Hyuk, who is best known for his works on South Korean films such as The fortress, Miss Grandmaand Silenced. It centers around a group of 456 moneyed players who accepted a strange invitation to compete in children’s games on a remote island in hopes of winning 456 billion won. But they will soon find that the prize comes with deadly high stakes.
The series is led by acclaimed actors Lee Jung-Jae (Together with the gods), Park Hae-Soo (Prison playbook), Wi Ha-Joon (Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum), Oh Young-Soo (god of war), Anupam Tripathi (Strangers from Hell), Heo Sung-Tae (Beyond evil), Kim Joo-Ryoung (Andante), and model Jung Ho-Yeon in her acting TV debut.
The idea for the project has been in development since 2008, when Hwang originally developed it as a film. However, due to its complex history at the time, he had failed to secure investment and casting for it. Therefore, he had no choice but to put it aside for ten years.
