Gory Indie Shooter Prodeus Gets Console and 1.0 Release Date

After years of catching eyeballs and praise during its early access period, Prodeus finally hits its 1.0 version and comes to consoles. Humble Games announced that the gory shooter will be released on September 23rd for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass (it’s also currently on PC ) Game Pass).

Prodeus‘ release date reveal came as part of the boomer shooter-filled Realms Deep presentation. The event trailer showed off its fast-paced retro gunplay and custom maps (its level editor is PC-only, though), in addition to its competitive multiplayer and four-player co-op. It also featured tunes from Andrew Hulshult, who is known for scoring other fast-paced first-person shooters such as Twilight, In the midst of eviland Eternal doom‘s The old gods DLC.

Prodeus launched in early access in November 2019 and was received quite well after more than double its Kickstarter goal. It currently sits at “Very Positive” and “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam for recent reviews and all reviews respectively. It was also previously planned for consoles, but that date was pretty nebulous. However, it looked like a release date was approaching since it was recently rated and part of one Xbox Game Pass Sizzling Wheel.
