The Acolyte: Manny Jacinto joins the cast of Star Wars Mystery Thriller

The coming Star wars thriller The acolyte has got another cast, which Variety reports that Manny Jacinto has been cast in the Disney+ series.

Jacinto, who is best known for his role in the hit NBC sitcom The good place, will join Lee Jung-jae and Jodie Turner-Smith — both of whom were also just cast in the series — in an as-yet-undisclosed role. Production on The acolyte is set to begin sometime later this year in London, with the series still lacking an official release date.

The acolyte is described as a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and new forces from the dark side that will unfold within the final days of the High Republic era. Further details about its characters have not been revealed yet, but the project title refers to a Sith at the beginning of their training under an experienced Sith Lord.

The Disney+ series will be written and executive produced by Leslye Headland (Russian doll), who will also serve as showrunner. Production is expected to begin in the autumn.
