Assassin’s Creed Mirage was almost confirmed thanks to several leaks and reports. And now Ubisoft has just made it official. The company has just revealed Assassin’s Creed Mirage with some concept art, says more to come later its Ubisoft Forward event at noon PT on September 10.

The announcement tweet doesn’t include more details, but the image seems to support reports that it will be set in the Middle East. Such reports have been clear that it will take place in Baghdad in the ninth century and star Valhalla‘s Basim.
It was not clear what Ubisoft planned to reveal Mirage before the Forward event. The first report from the game broke down in February and then came up again inside July, when it was reportedly delayed internally to spring 2023. Another report appeared earlier this week with much of the same information. However, the final leak was the most damning, which the key art for its DLC leaked and was wildly shared online. Many of these pictures were taken down, but it showed a character in a Middle Eastern setting and was called The Forty Thieves Quest, probably a reference to the folk tale “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.” After all, local folk tales often make their way into Ubisoft games.
It’s not the only thing Assassin’s Creed rumor as there have been reports and loose talk about a remaster or remake of the first entry (given improved visuals of the first game and a new logo), a crossover quest between Origin and Odyssey (as hinted by a voice actor), and a Japanese setting to Assassin’s Creed Infinitythe upcoming live service game. Confirmation or lack thereof will likely come at the Ubisoft Forward event or that Assassin’s Creed stream in September.
