Pierce Brosnan will play both Doctor Fate and Kent Nelson, an archaeologist who unearths an ancient god who trains Kent. While it’s unclear how much of Doctor Fate’s backstory will be featured in the upcoming film, his costume seems very accurate to the comics, right down to his Helmet of Fate – a talisman that helps boost Doctor Fate’s abilities and gives him a ton of powers in the process.

Black Adam features the introduction of Dwayne Johnson as Teth-Adam – the titular anti-hero – whose backstory was first teased during 2019’s Shazam! This marks the character’s live-action debut after only appearing in animated shows and movies such as Young Justice.

Joining Johnson are Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Other cast members include Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer and Uli Latukefu in undisclosed roles.
